Contest Overview

Welcome to the second annual Sergeant R Varmint Hunting Competition. The cost of admission is $220 (this includes a $20 admission fee). Side Pots are cost extra. The categories are as follows:

Main

$100 Gray Fox Stringer up to 5 fox most total weight (winners split (50/30/20)

 

$100 Racoon Stringer up to 5 racoons most total weight (winners split (50/30/20)

 

Side Pots

Only 1st place will pay out on Side pots

 

$20 Largest Bobcat

$20 Largest Grey Fox

$20 Largest Racoon

$20 Largest coyote

 

 

 

1.      This is a 23-hour contest

2.      This Hunt will start on Saturday @ 1201 PM (03/02/2024)

3.      Doors will close for weigh in at 11am Sunday (03/03/2024)

4.      This contest does not provide the land to hunt

5.      All hunting must be done within the State of Texas

6.      Teams must follow all County, State, and Federal hunting laws.

7.      If and individual team member breaks the law, the entire team will be disqualified.

8.      All team members are required to posses a valid Texas hunting license. (Trapper’s license not required for the contest.)

9.      Four members per team maximum. Two members minimum.

10.   All team members must be present at weigh-in on Sunday to claim prize money.

11.   All team members must hunt together at all times.

12.   All animals must be killed within the 23-hour contest window.

13.   Trapped, snared, cage-raised, or frozen animals will not be allowed.

14.   No pooling of animals between teams.

15.   No hunting in baited areas.

16.   No modifying the weight of animals in any way.

17.   Thermal and night-vision are allowed.

18.   Trolling is allowed

19.   No use of aircraft is allowed

20.   Dogs are not allowed to hunt, Dogs can only be used to track wounded animals.

21.   Chasing/Running down animals in a motorized vehicle is not allowed

22.   Winning animals become the property of Sergeant R LLC until the Judges decide and teams are paid.

23.   Judges reserve the right to deny entry to anyone for any reason.

24.   Decision of Judges is final. Judges are permitted to hunt in the contest.

 

For the 2024 Hunt we will be adding a Grand Champion Prize. Each winning team will acquire points per hunt entered and for each of the prize positions in the main contest. The point system will be as follows:

1st place – 5pts

2nd place -4pts

3rd place -3pts

 All teams that weigh in will receive 1 point

 Winners of the Side Pots will receive 1 point.
